Grab some tissue ladies, this might be the most romantic marriage proposal story you’ve ever heard!
It’s about a young Australian couple – Candice Catherine and Timothy Chee.
Just a week after Candice and Timothy (both 25) started dating 3 years ago, he knew he wanted to marry her! And he had the most unique and romantic proposal idea! But his marriage proposal idea took 3 whole years to execute & come to fruition.
A week after they met Tim began sending Catherine handwritten love letters.
And wait for it…
Each of the 14 letters Candice received from Tim started with a capital letter, starting with, W. The letters when placed next to each other spelt, ‘Will You Marry Me?’
But Candice did not know this at the time, matter of fact it took her 3 whole years to uncover the hidden message in the letters, after Timothy took her on a surprise vacation to the same place where they had their first date and finally revealed the code in his love letters.
Candice tells Daily Mail Australia,
Tim and I didn’t live far away from each other but we sent letters because the idea of having our hearts poured out in the form of paper meant we had tangible memories to look back on.
She added about the surprise reveal,
I am very difficult to surprise so this totally caught me off guard!
Even though Tim has always been the one to pull off grand romantic gestures his proposal took Catherine completely by surprise.
Narrating how it all happened, Catherine said,
I woke up on the morning of December 16, 2015, with a letter next to me instructing me to get dressed and to only come out when I’m fully ready.
As soon as I opened the door, I found rose petals and candles everywhere – my heart skipped a beat and I knew it was coming.
He sat me down in the living room with all the letters that he had written to me on the table. We read them out one by one reliving the memories of our dating years.
After we read all of them he then carefully arranged the letters and asked me to look at them.
On noticing the cryptic message Candice said she burst into tears.
A year after Tim’s hard to beat marriage proposal, the couple tied the knot in October 2016 in Sydney.
And once again Tim pulled out all the stops for a memorable wedding. At the reception ceremony he said to his bride a song he’d written for her just two months after they had started dating.
That’s it! Tim wins the Most Romantic Man of the decade Award.
The couple first met on Maroubra Beach in 2009 at an event put together by mutual friends of theirs. They barely spoke to each other that day but chance encounters over the next four years, as well as a six month stint overseas that separated them, led them back to each either in 2013 when they reunited as a couple and have been together since.
Catherine spoke on the importance of their love blossoming first from friendship,
Even though it took a long time for our friendship to blossom into love we are so grateful that we got to become friends first. The fact that we knew each other so well made the relationship feel so secure. We always look back and say we made the right choice by being good friends first.
IS THIS POSSIBLY THE MOST ROMANTIC PROPOSAL STORY YOU HAVE EVER HEARD?
